You are probably here because someone has talked to you about DECA, and you are wondering if your child should join.

Here are some of the many benefits of DECA:

1. DECA promotes leadership skills: Not only will your child learn extemporaneous speaking at the competitions, but he/she will have the opportunity to serve in the Woodson DECA leadership team.

2. DECA establishes work ethic: preparing for the competitions takes hard work and grit. Your child will develop better time management skills, and how to structure his/her studying. Unlike regular school subjects, DECA entails a lot of self-preparation and inner motivation.

3. College! Colleges love to see students who have taken the initiative to explore their interests in high school. Furthermore, the opportunity to show off an award from a state-level or international-level competition is remarkable.
